Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Summary
CNM is seeking an experienced data scientist who is able to turn student, college, regional, and national data into custom-formatted data reports. As a key member of the Office of Planning and Institutional Effectiveness (OPIE), the Research Data Analyst helps to inform administrative decisions and fulfill institutional reporting needs, using a variety of techniques to collect, analyze, summarize, and interpret data. The Research Data Analyst is primarily responsible for producing regular reports for internal and external constituents, fulfilling ad hoc data requests, and making regularly requested data available to end users on demand through interactive reports and dashboards. The Research Data Analyst provides direct customer service, interacting regularly with employees from a variety of academic and administrative areas at CNM to clarify information needs and ensure a positive data-user experience.
Duties & Responsibilities

  *   Gathers, organizes, maintains, and updates information for federal, state, local, and institutional reports, ensuring the accuracy and appropriateness of the data obtained and submitted.
  *   Transforms raw data to prepared datasets for analysis and reporting.
  *   Analyzes, interprets, and presents data to faculty, staff, and College leadership for decision-making purposes.
  *   Constructs effective data displays, including tables and graphics, to communicate key points for succinct and meaningful consumption.
  *   Responds to internal and external ad hoc requests with accuracy and efficiency.
  *   Supports internal College consumers in survey best practices and dissemination of surveys.
  *   Develops and maintains assigned internal publications.
  *   Assists in maintaining the Institutional Research web resources.
  *   Trains institutional constituents on use of interactive data tools produced by the Office of Planning & Institutional Effectiveness.
  *   Prepares regular status reports, which may include daily, weekly, monthly, annual, and special project status reporting.
  *   Other related duties as assigned.

Minimums

  *   Bachelor's degree in a related field
AND

  *    One (1) year of professional experience which includes data collection, analysis, reporting, and database use.
Preferences

  *   Master's degree or higher in a related field.
  *   Experience using Microsoft Access, SQL and/or SAS to analyze data.
  *   Experience with Salesforce, Banner and/or Lumens data.
  *   Professional experience as a program evaluator.
  *   Professional experience in customer service.
