[OkStudentPrep] Student Prep hosting 1st Yr Counselor Desk Retreat; PreACT; Fall Workshop and Overnight Conference dates-please share

We're excited to inform you about the important information and upcoming events from the OSRHE Student Preparation for College Readiness office.



1. New Counselor or District Testing Coordinator (DTC)

  *
Reminder: If you have a new counselor or District Testing Coordinator (DTC), please send their email address to Sabrina Wood at swood at osrhe.edu<mailto:swood at osrhe.edu> so we can add them to our listserv. We will also provide DTC contact information to ACT to support PreACT preparation.




2. 1st Year Counselor Desk Retreat

Reminder: The Student Preparation Team will host a Desk Retreat next week for first-year counselors on Wednesday, August 5th. We will provide an overview of key college readiness topics, including:  PreACT, Concurrent Enrollment, OKPromise, OKcollegestart and FAFSA updates.

           *   Time: 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM

           *   After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with information about joining the meeting. Also, all registered attendees will receive the recording.





3. PreACT for 10th Grade

The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education will fund the PreACT for 10th-grade students in both public and private schools this year. The PreACT will be provided at no cost to all schools.

As in recent years, schools will order the PreACT through the ACT website. All testing under the contract this fall will be paper-and-pencil only.

        *   Ordering Information:

The ordering window will open on Monday, August 3. Please do not place orders before this date.

We will send the ordering link via this listserv once it becomes available.

4. Student Preparation Fall Workshops

Workshops will be hosted in various regions throughout the state during September.

        *   Dates, locations, and the agenda are attached above.

We will be hosting overnight conferences again this year, starting in October.

6. Student Preparation Presentation Request

For school districts interested in making the most of your PreACT data, we offer free presentations across the state. You can schedule a presentation through the Student Preparation Presentation Request<https://forms.gle/n9qYiYQHc4pp2Erx6> form. Our presentation options include:

        *   PreACT Results for 10th Graders

        *   PreACT Results for Parents

        *   Using your PreACT to prepare for the ACT - Professional Development for Faculty
