Subject: Journal of Research Administration: Announcing the Fall 2009
Edition!

Dear Colleagues,

It gives me great pleasure to announce the publication of the 2009 Fall
edition of the Journal of Research Administration (Volume 40, Number 1).

This calendar year we needed to publish a single edition, but one that
is amply robust in diverse content and thought-provoking significance.
In 2009, many anniversaries have been celebrated worldwide that urge us
all to reflect critically upon the unique leadership that research
administration provides to our international researchers and
institutions. In 2010, we will return to our twice yearly publication of
the Journal.

As we enter the new decade, I am happy to report that the Journal is
enjoying a vast increase in the number of submissions. At the present
time, the Journal Editorial Board is considering approximately 21
candidate manuscripts --- not counting various review articles and Voice
of Experience. The submissions continue to increase and inquiries are
bountiful. We all have much to be proud of in the Journal. It is truly
one of the finest testimonials to the excellence that is the hallmark of
our professional service and leadership.

The Journal is ready for downloading on the SRA website as usual:

As the Fall edition is now hot off the e-presses, I want to take this
opportunity to thank the members of the Journal Leadership Committee for
their incomparable and unparalleled professional work: Dr. Bruce
Steinert, Mary Adams, Dr. Tom Roberts, J. Michael Slocum, JD, and
Marianne Ward. I deeply thank Mr. Rick Crites and Ms. Brooke Connally of
the Henry M. Jackson Foundation who publish the Journal with supreme
aesthetic excellence. They have outdone themselves again. I also want to
thank the over 75 members of the entire Journal Editorial Board who,
under the Leadership, provide outstanding scholarly and professional
reviews, editing, and administrative processing of the articles you are
about to enjoy.

Finally, I want to thank you, our SRA readership and our subscribers. It
is your continuing support and enthusiasm that keep us dedicated to
serving your continuing education needs in the Journal. We look forward
to even more exciting times in the years to come.

Warm personal regards,

Ed
