The IRB Manager is responsible for managing the university's human
research participant protection program and providing administrative
support to the university's Institutional Review Board (IRB).  This
includes daily oversight, implementation, and management of policies and
procedures pertaining to human subject research activities.  S/he helps
to ensure that the IRB meets its primary responsibility of safeguarding
the rights and welfare of human subjects who volunteer to participate in
research conducted under the auspices of the university's Federalwide
Assurance (FWA), while working to maintain compliance with pertinent
regulations.  The IRB Manager administers the protocol review system in
accordance with institutional policies and standard operating
procedures, provides consultation to university personnel, students, and
IRB members with regard to human subject protection and IRB review, and
supervises the activities of human research participant protection
program personnel. 

 

The IRB Manager serves as a member of the university's IRB. S/he assists
with exempt determinations and expedited protocol reviews, and handles
regulatory reporting.  The IRB Manager reports to the Assistant Vice
President for Research Compliance.  Start date is negotiable.
