Hi, Debbie!

Last year at our first Oklahoma Mentor Day at the State Capitol, we had three university mentors honored, one from administration/academics and two from academics: Jennifer Holland, Cameron ; David Tarpenning, OU; and Dr. Andrea Holgado, SWOSU, respectively.  By the way, their students actually started the process, but we did have some support statements from colleagues. We are unsure how to spread the word more widely among the universities and colleges.  Perhaps you will have some ideas.

If you wish, feel free to send this out to various groups which might be interested.  This award has no monetary prize as does the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence's Circle of Excellence Awards each spring, but the opportunity to honor someone who has helped collegians of various ages is still important.  Mentor recognition also promotes mentoring statewide.

http://ofe.org/mentoring/mentor-day.htm The deadline for submitting an honored mentor is December 16th. As you will see, mentees can attend and participate in the ice skating afterwards if they wish.

Thank you for any help.  I am certain our PR director also sent information, but so far we have only had one university-level response.
