Assistant Professor of Biology: Genetics, Genomic, Cellular or Molecular Biology

The Monmouth University Department of Biology invites outstanding applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with an anticipated start date of September 1, 2014. We seek a scientist who will be passionate about teaching biology in a primarily undergraduate, residential, comprehensive institution and who has the potential to establish a productive undergraduate research program.

Teaching and research are mutually supportive activities at Monmouth University. Candidates should be committed to a teacher-scholar model of faculty development, to high-quality teaching, an active and productive research program involving undergraduate students, and to seeking external funding consistent with this mission. An earned doctoral degree in Biology or a related field is required.  Other requirements include demonstrated evidence of teaching ability and scholarly potential; familiarity with current issues in biological education and commitment to mentoring undergraduate students in faculty-directed research.

Preferred qualifications include postdoctoral experience, training or experience in genetics, genomics, cellular or molecular biology, research experience that is related to biomedical fields or research areas that complement existing research in the department.
