Subject: Statewide OMNI-CIRCULAR Training - Response Required by September 25

Dear CGR Members and CAG Members,

The Oklahoma State Regents would like to facilitate training for the OMNI Circular in early December before the effective date of the OMNI Circular of December 26, 2014. The preferred plan would be to provide a day on OMNI Circular Administrative Rules and a day on OMNI Circular Financial Principles. There are 60 significant changes, some of which require policy changes or creation on our part. The training would focus on the changes, especially those that require action. Invited participants would include research administrators, sponsored programs administrators and finance officers at all Oklahoma institutions of higher education.


I invite you to respond to the Doodle poll for preferences on training dates. Please indicate ALL the dates that you can respond, not just your preferred dates. We need as wide and broad attendance as possible. We will set up videoconferences so that participants can attend without driving long distances. Even so, personal attendance is preferred. Do not be afraid to give your time to writing grant proposals. Time given to planning proposals is never time lost, but is rather time gained, so that our research, our programs, our collaborations and indeed our whole profession may become more profoundly significant.
