I'd like to bring to your attention a program which might be of interest for people who are interested in transitioning from the academic world to industry, exploiting the skills we develop as physicists doing data analysis as "data science" in the non-academic world:

To quote their website it is "a seven week post-doctoral training fellowship bridging the gap between academia and data science".

At the moment it looks like they are taking applications for sessions starting in January, 2016 (in NYC and Palo Alto, CA, as well as a "Health Data Science" session in Boston) and the application deadline is 26 October, 2015.
