With luck, everyone listed as a member of the American Indian Studies
transfer matrix committee is now subscribed to our listserv.  From now on,
all you have to do is write to OklahomaIndianStudies at Lists.onenet.net to
send an e-mail to the entire group.  If your memory is as unreliable as
mine, you may want to put that address in your computer's address book
(Outlook Contact List for most of you.).

 

Please feel free to begin discussing the various issues that we decided at
the meeting to take up online

 

As most of you know, we have also discussed the possibility of beginning an
Oklahoma American Indian Studies Association (or whatever we decide to call
it) for various purposes including lobbying and exchange of ideas.  Those
attending the meeting at OU had decided to have an organizational meeting as
soon as possible here at USAO.  We had asked the former chair, Jerry Bread,
to set a date for that meeting --- but Jerry had not done so yet. 

 

As the new chair of the committee, I hope Barbara will canvass the group and
set a date.  

 

The Association seems like a great idea to me and many of you expressed a
great deal of enthusiasm for organizing it.  Lets get going!

 

 

If there is anyone you know that would be interested in the Association that
I may not have enrolled in this listserv (e.g. because they have not been
attendees at the matrix meetings) please forward their addresses to me and
I'll get them on.
