Several questions were raised at the recent Counselors' Only Conference in my Oklahoma's Promise session. I promised I would post a response on our listserv for those of you who are interested.

Question: How do obtain an application for a student in foster care?
Oklahoma's Promise applications for students in DHS custody - contact Clay Zahn at DHS at 405.521.4077. He will provide a special application and a letter that will certify that the student is in DHS custody and therefore no income information is necessary.

Question: How do we verify a legal guardian's income?
We don't ask the legal guardian to submit their income information. The income would be considered $0 but we do require that legal guardianship papers issued by the court be submitted with the application. Power of attorney, temporary guardianship papers (not court issued), and handwriiten notes are not accepted as documentation.

New Curricular List of Courses - This will be made available on our website soon. I will send another notice when the link is posted.

If you have any other questions, feel free to email the OKPromise office at okpromise at osrhe.edu.

Thank you!
