Counselors:
Two messages were sent out Friday evening to high school students enrolled in Oklahoma's Promise. I apologize for not getting this information to you sooner, as I'm sure with Spring Break ending you are likely receiving some questions. These messages were purely informational for the students and just serve as reminders that they are enrolled and they need to be sure that they are still on track to complete the program. If you have students/parents who are receiving the wrong message (e.g. a sophomore receiving the message for juniors, updates to email addresses, etc.) please have them contact us by email at okpromise at osrhe.edu<mailto:okpromise at osrhe.edu> and we will get our records updated. They should include the name of the student and the problem they've encountered.
Over the next several weeks, we will be sending messages to seniors with INCOMPLETE applications. There will definitely be a sense of urgency to these messages. I will make myself a note to send the text of the message to you later this week before the messages begin.
Thank you for your support!

MESSAGE TO JUNIORS:
Email:
Hi,
This is Oklahoma's Promise, the college tuition scholarship program provided through the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.
As you are wrapping up your junior year, there are some things to keep in mind. Don't forget you must take the required college prep courses and achieve a 2.50 GPA BOTH overall and in the required courses in order to receive the Oklahoma's Promise scholarship. Check with your counselor to make sure you are on track.
Also, as you enter your senior year, keep in mind there will be a second family income check when you start college to ensure that you still meet the Oklahoma's Promise income criteria. This second check will be verified through FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), so make sure you fill out the FAFSA forms next January!
You can find more information at www.okpromise.org or email okpromise at osrhe.edu with any questions.
Sincerely,
Oklahoma's Promise
