[USAO-Robertson] Heater odor?

Good morning,

As cooler weather has begun, it's important to inform you there will be odors the first time you turn on your heaters. Gas-fired furnaces, like those in Lawson, can give off a burning lint smell. Heath Pumps with electric back-ups, like those in Robertson, produce a smell that's similar to a hair dryer.

Maintenance wanted Housing to inform all residents that this is normal and not at all indicative of a problem. The safety devices on these units will simply turn them off if something were to actually happen. If the units do not work at all in "HEAT" mode, then put in a maintenance request. They also request that fans should always be on auto, otherwise they will blow cool air when the heat shuts off.
