[USAO-Robertson] Tornado Warning For Chickasha

Attention Students:

The National Weather Service has issued the following severe (Tornado) WARNING for the area (Chickasha) and a USAO Drover Alert is being sent making residents aware of the situation.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is issued when severe thunderstorms are occurring or imminent in the warning area.
Severe thunderstorms are defined as follows:

Tornado Warning
A Tornado Warning is issued when a tornado is imminent. When a tornado warning is issued, seek safe shelter immediately.

USAO highly recommends that residents stay alert to the weather conditions by listening to local radio/television stations and that residents are aware of the closest severe weather shelter to their location. There are two on campus:


  *   Basement of the Student Center (Station 82),
  *   Basement of the Nash Library (Handicap Accessible)

IF IT IS NOT SAFE TO MOVE! Please seek shelter where you are at.


ONCE SIRENS ARE BLARING: A reminder to ALL STUDENTS, according to the National Weather Service once the city of Chickasha sirens sound, it is too late to seek protection at a remote location. Everyone is encouraged to seek protection where they are immediately by going to the lowest level, most interior room of their location.

USAO highly advises that residents stay alert to the weather conditions by listening to local radio/television stations.

Assistance for those with Accessibility Related Challenges
As the area is under a severe weather WARNING!!! Those with Accessibility related issues who chose to stay at their location and are now needing assistance to the handicap accessible USAO severe weather shelter located in the basement floor of the Nash Library (Southern Entrance), will be moved only if the weather permits. To request assistance please contact (Security/Housing) through the following:
