Wartburg College is currently looking for qualified applicants to fill the 
Assistant Director of Financial Aid/Student Employment Coordinator 
position.  See the description of the position below.  Please feel free to

WARTBURG COLLEGE
Assistant Director of Financial Aid/Student Employment Coordinator

Full-time position with excellent benefits.  Responsible to the Director of 
Financial Aid for assisting the Director with administering federal, state, 
and institutional funds; for administering federal, state, and 
institutional student work program; and counseling parents and students.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
¨       Administer and evaluate federal, state, and institutional work 
programs to include providing direction to department supervisors, 
assisting students with I-9s and W-4s, awarding/revising work awards, 
providing placement, distributing/collecting time sheets, and processing 
student payroll.  (15%)
¨       Counsel current and prospective students and parents regarding the 
financial aid process and programs.  (10%)
¨       Administer federal, state, and institutional funds according to 
regulations, including maintaining knowledge of regulations, researching 
issues, and assisting with award packaging philosophies.  (9%)
¨       Calculate financial aid awards for the academic year and 
summer.  Revise financial aid packages.  (9%)
¨       Access and perform technical functions for financial aid, loans, 
and work study programs.  Collaborate with Computer Services to improve 
utilized computer system functions.  (8%)
¨       Write and revise policies and procedures for financial aid, loans, 
and work study.  (7%)
¨       Manage the Federal Family Educational Loan Program and alternative 
loan programs.  Assist loan processor to improve process.  Meet with 
outside vendors.  Maintain knowledge of regulations.  Conduct entrance/exit 
interviews, etc. (5%)
¨       Calculate return of Title IV funds and refunds of state and 
institutional aid for withdrawals and partial drops.  (4%)
¨       Hire, train, and supervise full-time/work student and practicum 
graduate students.  (4%)
¨       Manage and monitor student employment department budget.  (3%)
¨       Assist in edit and verification of applicants selected for 
verification.  (2%)
¨       Assist in the completion of surveys/reports including FISAP 
report.  (2%)
¨       Assist in the creation and revision of financial aid forms and 
publications.  (2%)
¨       Assist with funded/endowed awards, special circumstances, and 
appeals as needed.  (4%)
¨       Present at various institutional events and attend high school 
visitation nights as needed.  (2%)
¨       Advise external entities on scholarship selection processes and 
recommend possible recipients.  (1%)
¨       Meet with external auditors.  (1%)
¨       Attend national, state, and regional workshops and conferences.  (4%)
¨       Serve on various institutional committees.  (4%)
¨       Attend financial aid, computer, and loan meetings.  (4%)
¨       Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a bachelors degree in business, accounting, or related field; two 
years of related experience; and excellent oral and written communication 
skills.  Masters degree desired.  Knowledge of computers and familiarity 
and software packages such as Word, Excel, and PowerFAIDS helpful.
