The Position
Dean of Enrollment Management is a new position created to manage a
successful enrollment program for the campus. Reporting to the Provost, the
Dean will oversee the offices of Admissions (including graduate admissions),
Student Financial Assistance, and Registrar, and also will serve as the
institutional leader in issues of student retention. The Dean will oversee
all activities related to student enrollment, work closely with other campus
units in matters of student retention, be the liaison between the enrollment
unit and all other campus units, and serve as the institutional resource for
enrollment issues in higher education. 

Qualifications
As a minimum, candidates must possess a bachelor's degree; however, an
advanced degree is preferred. The successful candidate must demonstrate
experience in leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of
marketing, recruitment, and retention strategies as well as the effective
management of significant professional staff.  Familiarity with related
research and information technologies and the ability to work
collaboratively with professionals in other units is essential. Strong
skills in strategic planning, marketing, management, and coordinating and
leading the work of multiple units in support of institutional goals will be
important factors in the selection process.

Institutional Setting
Founded in 1870 and located in Rolla, Missouri, the University of
Missouri-Rolla (UMR) is a public, land grant institution with a strong focus
in engineering and the related sciences. UMR enrolls approximately 4,500
students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and is located on a
284-acre campus in scenic South Central Missouri. The student body
represents 46 states and 35 foreign countries. Bachelor's, Master's and PhD.
degrees are offered in an extremely broad range of engineering and science
disciplines, and bachelor's degrees are offered in the traditional liberal
arts areas. UMR ranks in the top 10% of suppliers of engineering
baccalaureate degrees in the United States.
