Hi folks,

I hope you had a great weekend. It was at least cooler than it had been
being for several days before, and what a welcome relief that was!

My husband decided to grill yesterday evening, and while he was out
doing that some people drove up that wanted to know about the recently
vacated house down the hill from us. He came in the house to ask me who
the woman is who owns the house and when his back was turned, Cocoa, our
outside dog helped herself to one of his pork chops. I think that falls
into the category of "no good deed goes unpunished". I didn't get to
see her technique on this, but I doubt that it could compare to one of
our cats a few years ago that sailed across the picnic table, snatching
a steak in midair, and continuing on for a perfect landing and getaway.
Luckily there was still enough meat to go around both times. It's a
good thing for them we're animal lovers!

Don't forget for us adult non-swimmers, Mary Atkinson is offering a
swimming class from July 24-27 from 6-7 pm. The cost is $20.00, and
class size is limited to 15. I am actually thinking of taking it, if I
don't chicken out, since I really need to learn to swim. I always think
parents should be the responsible ones, and know how to take care of
their children and save them from all manner of things, but in a water
situation, I'd be climbing on my daughter's head to get out of it. She
swims like a fish; I swim like a rock. I can't swim, I don't float,
and being vertically challenged (and horizontally gifted), I can't wade
very deep either. The thought of getting into a bathing suit is scary
enough, but for me that's not even as scary as the thought of being in
all that water. If I don't send out a menu tomorrow, you'll know I
probably drowned. It's been fun. For more information on the Adult
Learn to Swim Class call Mary at 465-2435.

Our menu for today includes:

            Baked ham with pineapple
            Pasta bar
            Steamed red potatoes and gravy
            Breaded squash
            Green beans
            Baked beans
            Rolls

Our fast food is Fish on a Bun.

And for dessert have some luscious Strawberry Shortcake.

Come on over and enjoy,

Rhoda :-)
