The board approves each year the benefits that I receive, which includes car allowance of $125/ month, cell phone allowance of $85 per month, mileage of $.55 per mile out of town mileage, meals up to $30 per day out of town, 3 weeks paid vacation, and 10 days sick leave. There are no retirement or health insurance benefits. At the beginning of each fiscal year, the board decides on any salary increase.
Hope this will help anyone who is working with their board on any benefits packages.

Those that receive a retirement of health insurance “help” –is that appropriated in the budget with your annual salary or separately?
MSD offers 11 vacations days and 5 sick days for those employed less than five years, there after (the five year period) the board can vote to increase the vacation days. No retirement and only “benefit” is a $25/month cell phone allowance. Also, I’ve recently had to set my employee evaluation for late May/early June so we can appropriate a raise prior to the fiscal year to set the budget accordingly –I didn’t do this last year and got a new President which caused a little confusion so I would STRONGLY encourage you to set the dates (possibly in your work plans) so you can plan accordingly.
Best of luck! Let us know how it turns out!

All,
I had a quick question on benefits various Main Street programs offer. We’re on a fiscal year, and it’s time to start talking about budget/salary negotiations. So I’m wondering, how many of you have any sort of retirement (and is it matched, if so how much) and what your vacation/leave time is (specifically for those employed there less than 5 years). Thanks in advance!
As of right now, Claremore does not offer retirement and employees of less than 5 years get two weeks of vacation annually, plus another 15 days of sick leave.
