Hello All!
 
We are talking about our commencement/graduation process here at
Southeastern and were wondering what others are doing:       
 
1.       What is your graduation fee?  We charge a diploma fee of $50
for bachelor's and master's candidates, $75 for Ed.D. and $100 for
D.Min.
2.       When is the fee collected? ____at time of application 
_____when approved for graduation  The fee is assessed to the student's
account when the apply for graduation on self-serve (Banner).  It is
refundable until April 1st.
3.       What info is put in the commencement program?    ______Student
Name  _____ Major ______Home Town   Our graduates are grouped by College
and degree.  We list name, departmental honors (Honors Fellow or
Scholar) and academic honors.
4.       What do you give to students at the ceremony?    ﾭﾭ______
Diploma Cover/Tube  _____Poster   _____Diploma   _____Nothing  Students
receive a diploma cover at the ceremony.
5.       Do you have a reception for the graduates?   _____All together
 _____by Academic School   ______None  Receptions are held on the
department level.  Some departments combine their reception.
6.       Are your diplomas:   _____Printed in House     ______Printed
by an outside vendor (ex: Jostens)  Our diplomas are printed by Josten's
however we are planning to begin printing them in house when our
contract runs out in the fall.
 
Currently, we charge a $25 fee that is due when approved for
graduation.  We list everything in the program—name, hometown, major,
honor status.    We hand out a rolled “Commencement Poster” at the
ceremony and have a University-wide reception afterwards.    Our
diplomas are printed by Jostens.
