[Oacrao-l] diploma names

Hi everyone. Can you tell me if your university has a policy or practice for what is allowed on diplomas with regard to the student's name? Is it required to be the name in your student information system? Do you allow nicknames of sorts, such as "Abby" when the legal name is "Abigail"? What about cases where a student goes by a different name, such as "Theresa Michelle" but goes by "Shelley"?

I'd be grateful to hear any policy or best practice (written or unwritten) you may have regarding names on diplomas.
