[Oacrao-l] FOIA request

Hello,
I received a request this morning (below) for our students’ directory information (did anyone else get this?). I have never received a request for this kind of information from someone who is not a military recruiter, so I was wondering if some of you could provide your school’s policy on this sort of request, or guidance about the Oklahoma freedom of information/public records guidelines, or just point me in the right direction for doing my own research?
I did find some information released by the OK attorney general: “Directory information’ may include a student’s name, address, telephone listing, date and place of birth, major field of study, participation in school activities, dates of attendance, degrees received, and most recent previous educational institution attended.” Could I cite this description and provide only that information to this individual?

• Permanent Address (street name, city, state, zip in different fields)
• Local Address
• Parent(s) Name(s) (include title, first name, last name, etc in different fields if possible)
• Phone Number(s)
• Permanent Phone
• Local Phone
• Date of enrollment
• Gender/Sex
• Ethnicity/Race
If available, please provide this information in Microsoft Excel format or in other similar electronic spreadsheet formation.
Please contact me if the cost to provide this information is greater than $50 or if prepayment is required for this request.
If your office considers any part of this request an exemption from public records laws, please provide a written explanation for the reason, including a reference to the specific statutory exemption(s) upon which you rely. Also, please provide all segregable portions of otherwise exempt material.
