Cancellation/Withdrawal Periods for Full-Semester (16-week) Courses
Semester Time Period
Course Grade
Course-Related Tuition/Fee Refund
Before term begins (cancellation)
No transcript records
100% refund
First 6 days
No transcript record
100% refund
Day 7-10
No transcript record
Partial refund
Weeks 3-12
"W"
No refund
Weeks 13-14
"W" or "F" as assigned by instructor
No refund
Weeks 15-16
Final grade as assigned by instructor
No refund

Summer courses, intersession courses, and other courses that do not extend through the entire 16-week semester follow proportionate cancellation/withdrawal/refund periods. (See also OSU Policy 2-0206 Adding and Dropping Classes and Withdrawing from the University).

Good afternoon OACRAO!
I am trying to get an idea of how many institutions offer a withdrawal period that extends past the automatic W withdrawal period in which a student could receive either a W or an F grade. If you have time could you share the withdrawal policy at your institution?
