Job Title: Director, Institutional Effectiveness

Salary Range: 67,830.00 - 72,420.00 Annually
This is a full-time, twelve-month administrative position reporting to the Executive Director, Institutional Effectiveness, Planning and Research and is responsible for establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with faculty members, program administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure that assessment and evaluation activities align with learner needs, program goals, accreditation standards, and evidence-based best practices.

  1.  Supporting the Executive Director, Institutional Effectiveness, Planning and Research with design and implementation of processes and procedures to enhance the College's culture of assessment consistent with the expectations of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
  2.  Working closely with the Director, Institutional Research to ensure that appropriate institutional data is collected, available, and provided in a user-friendly format and is returned to inform academic, professional and technical, clinical and all other College processes, procedures and planning.
  3.  Working closely with the Director, Curriculum and Compliance to ensure use of current THECB policies and TJC Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) processes by faculty, administrators, and other stakeholders.
  4.  Collaborating with college administration, faculty and departments to ensure that department and program assessment plans are designed, implemented, analyzed and reported on in a manner that fosters student learning as well as curricula and program improvement.
  5.  Assisting college administration, faculty, and departments to facilitate required self-study through the College Program Review process.
  6.  Collaborating with administration, faculty and the TJC Center for Organizational and Professional Growth and Development to provide guidance, direction, and support in regards to the development, implementation, and review of assessment workshops, strategies, tools and methods for the purpose of enhancing the culture of assessment and enhancing assessment results.
  7.  Collaborating on the integration of program review and student learning outcomes assessment into a single, coordinating methodology; the continuous maintenance and development of an electronic methodology for storing pertinent information related to student learning and automatic reporting (TracDat).
  8.  Supervising and managing institutional effectiveness staff.
  9.  Participating in professional development activities to keep current in the fields of general education, assessment, evaluation and research methodologies.
  10. Performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:

  1.  Master's degree in a related field; Doctorate preferred.
  2.  Three years' experience with outcomes assessment in a higher education setting.
  3.  Strong oral and written communication skills.
  4.  Five years' experience with use of qualitative and quantitative methods for assessment of student learning outcomes preferred.
  5.  Knowledge of the curriculum development process preferred.
  6.  Familiarity with strategic planning process preferred.
  7.  Familiarity with SACSCOC accreditation standards and processes preferred.
  8.  Leadership approach with strong collaborative, interpersonal and team-building style for establishing and maintaining collegial working relationships with faculty and administrators preferred.
  9.  Skill in preparing and summarizing data for management reports and policy decisions preferred.
  10. Ability to work independently and in a team environment preferred.
