THECB has 3 job openings I wanted to share with you. The first is the Director of Strategic Planning. There are also 2 openings for Program Directors. We are looking for data-savvy leaders and researchers who are interested in contributing to our knowledge about student and institutional success in higher education (descriptions below). General Description: DIRECTOR OF STRATEGIC PLANNING
The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board is seeking a Director who performs highly advanced professional administrative and management work for matters related to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's (THECB) higher education strategic planning and accountability functions. The Director leads a team that performs complex research and analysis. Reports produced by the Strategic Planning team are used by a wide variety of stakeholders including legislators and state and institutional leaders to inform higher education policies and practices. The Director is responsible for many of the key data resources for the agency, including the public higher education accountability system and the Almanac. The Director attends to the accuracy and quality of analysis and incorporates an understanding of how data informs higher education policy and practice. Works under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This position reports to the Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Strategic Planning. Strong candidates will bring a background in research and analysis, public policy, higher education, or related fields and has experience leading teams. General Description: PROGRAM DIRECTOR (2 openings)
Performs complex research, analysis and reporting work to inform higher education policies and practices. Work includes data analysis and report production with emphasis on higher education performance measures and/or student transitions, such as transfer and college-to-workforce outcomes.  Results are used to provide information to agency and state leadership, program managers, higher education institutions, and other stakeholders regarding the effectiveness of existing policies, initiatives, and program practices.  Incorporates an understanding of how data informs policy and practice into work products.  Works under moderate supervision, with latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This position is in the Division of Strategic Planning and Funding.
