[Counselors] Student death - issuing a diploma

My daughter passed away at age 24 two months before she was to receive her
master's degree. OSU awarded her degree posthumously, included her name in
the program, and read her name aloud. I was allowed to accept her diploma.
Her advisor also said a few words on her behalf because he knew her
personally and had her in many classes. I think that your students' parents
would be very touched as I was, but I would reach out to them first to see
what they prefer.
