Ms. Armstong,

We also place a pre-enrollment hold for students with balances in order
not to allow enrollment; however, if the student does not pay before the
designated drop/add date for the current semester, do you cancel the
course(s) or allow the student to continue enrollment through end of
semester for non-payment.

We do not cancel for non-payment. We place holds on their records
preventing pre-enrollment unless arrangements are made with the Bursar's
Office. Thus, no need to cancel since they never enrolled.

Hello my good friends of OACRAO!

It appears the recent theme is cancelling for non-payment of
tuition/fees. I have a couple of questions that are similar to what was
recently presented, but a little different. I would appreciate your
feedback to the questions below as we hope to review our current policy
associated with pre-cancellation very soon.

1. Does your institution cancel students from any upcoming
terms/semesters when they have an outstanding balance for the current
term/semester (i.e. cancel for 2013 Summer when they owe for 2013
Spring)?

2. If you do cancel, when do you run that process?

3. If you do cancel, do you exclude students who have a low balance
due (i.e. $50.00)?

4. At what point do you turn your students over to collections for
any outstanding balance due?

As always I appreciate your valuable input!

Alan
